A study in amateur marathon runners found that 12 weeks of Cordyceps sinensis improved aerobic performance in a five kilometer test.

The trial was small, but it fits the wider idea that they may help some people during longer steady effort rather than short bursts of nervous stimulation (5).

Athletes are useful study subjects because fatigue can be tested with time, oxygen use and workload.

Daily tiredness is harder to study because it can come from many sources. Low protein, low salt, low magnesium, poor light, late nights, stress and high carb intake can all create fatigue.

Oxygen Use

Cordyceps fits best in the morning or early afternoon. It is caffeine free, but some people still feel more alert from it.

Claim Limits

There is better evidence for exercise support than for vague claims like daily vitality, testosterone, anti aging or limitless energy.

Many claims come from animal studies, cell studies or tradition. Those sources can guide research, but they do not prove the same effect in people.

A 2008 review on Cordyceps described many possible biological actions while also stressing the need for better clinical studies in humans (8).
